Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Are you letting your light shine?   Don’t hide all the blessings you’ve recieved…  know where they come from and don’t be afraid to share that with people.  NOW don’t be a Crazy Christian and every other word is “Praise God…  etc”  That is great in context but the light you shine should be WELCOMING and not frightening.  Your lingo should be tailored to your company.  I think as I become closer to God, this is getting tougher.  So I’ve adjusted a few comman phrases.  Rather than saying “My car repair was only $50, thank-God” which now a days doesn’t make much of an impression…  I try and say “My car repair was only $50.  I thank God for that!”  Very slight change, but I feel drastically different impact.

Also as parents we need to talk to our kids letting them know the good things are from God and that they are  “not by our might” .  We’ll get their light shining too!
