Proverbs 12:20

20 Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy.

#1) What is in your heart?

#2) Can we know what is in the heart of other people?

Joy is invaluable.   Especially when going through tough times.   If you are promoting peace you will know by the feeling in your heart…  On the other hand we can not see what is in others hearts so it is not for us to judge…  Sometimes promoting peace can upset people because it often involves being a little thrifty and patient which today’s society does not like…

Peace may mean…  not being able to help out at a school function…  How many times have you over-extended yourself and caused discord in your family?  On the flip side, have you ever not seen someone at a function and thought…  “Where the heck are they?”

Peace may mean…  Telling your hubby he can’t go purchase that new toy…  How many times have you seen a good deal and went out and got it, only to have financial issues or feelings of guilt later.  On the flip side, have you ever been restricted and thought…  they went out and bought or did that, why can’t I do or buy this?

So, we need to trusting in those we take advice in and realizing that what they say or do may upset or make us angry but if it’s intention was to promote peace then it is the right thing!  Peace in our lives is invaluable!
