Crockpot Beef Stew

  • 1- 1 1/2 lbs of stew beef
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • salt and pepper as needed
  • 1/2 cup cooking wine
  • 2 beef boulin cubes or 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 Tbl minced garlic
  • 5 potatoes peeled and chunked
  • 8 carrots peeled and cut
  • 2 onions cut in wedges
  • water as needed

  1. Shake 1 – 1 1/2 lbs of stew beef with 1/2 cup of flour.  Cook in a pan that’s been sprayed with Pam or a little oil and fry up for 5 mins with Salt and pepper.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of cooking wine.  (Anything you’ve got)  let thicken for another 5 min.
  3. While that frying heat up 2 cups of water with 2 beef boulin cubes in the microwave for 4 min or just use your beef broth
  4. Add beef, and broth to a crockpot.
  5.  Add 5 cut up pealed potatoes, and 8 peeled cut carrots, onion wedges and a tbl of minced garlic.
  6. Add just enough water to cover everything and let cook for 6 – 8 hours on low.
  7. About 1/2 hr before you are ready to eat  thicken the broth.  You can do this several ways but I use a little flour and cold water mix well so there is no clumps but it should be pretty thick…  like gravy  and slow add to the beef stew while stiring.
  8. let warm back up and it’s ready.
